Saucisson sec le Montagnard
High-quality saucisson made with French mountain pork, prepared at an altitude always higher than 700 m. Lean meat and fat, seasoned in top spices and sugar, smoked and cured that gives off a distinct tasteful flavor, a rustic, unique taste.
Slice it thinly, and serve it alongside roquefort and red wine. Serve in your cold cut platter or aperitif plate with your favorite cheese. Add as topping to your pasta.
Storage: Store in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator.
Take out of the bin in advance before serving.
Shelf life: up to 12 weeks unopened.
Frenchified Grilled Cheese
4 thin slices of Saucisson Montagnard
4 slices of Australian cheddar
4 slices French Sourdough baguette
4 tbsp Isigny French Butter
Layer cheese and saucisson slices over the sourdough sliced bread, one in each.
Cover with the other slices to close.
Spread half tablespoon of butter evenly over the top each bread slices.
Heat skillet over medium-low heat.
Place sandwiches, side with butter down, in the skillet.
Spread the other half tablespoon of butter over the top of the slices.
With a spatula, press down the bread. Turn once to cook the other side.
Cook until bread is golden brown.
Serve and enjoy!
