Winemaker's notes:

A well-defined terroir, Beaujolais is closely identified with Gamay, which reigns supreme there. In the north, the grape variety gives way to Chardonnay when it hits the limestone soils. To the south, it fades away in front of the clay-limestone lands that surround the Lyon metropolis.

Because the key to the richness of our wines lies in the grape, respect for the fruit is the fundamental principle that governs each stage of vinification. At Mommesin, we have chosen a minimalist intervention, the refusal of chemical processes and human action in the service of the grape.
