While grapevine fossils exist in central Italy, dating back a staggering two million years, evidence of actual grape cultivation only goes back to the Bronze Age. The Abruzzo region boasts the earliest signs of winemaking, predating the Roman era, as seen in funerary pottery discovered near L'Aquila.

Tasting notes

This wine radiates with an intense ruby red color and flashes of vibrant violet. Its aroma bursts with ripe plums, juicy morello cherries, and a medley of dark berry fruits.  The palate is surprisingly fresh, with a well-defined structure. Subtle tannins add depth without overpowering, leading to a full-bodied, velvety texture and a lingering, fruit-forward finish.
