French Green Beans (Haricot Verts) - Pre-Cooked & IQF

₱ 250 ₱ 359

These slender French green beans, commonly known as haricots verts, offer a convenient option for vegetable sides, salads, and everyday meals. Their narrow shape and tender texture make them suitable for quick finishing methods such as sautéing, pan-searing, steaming, and reheating.

The beans are pre-cooked and individually quick frozen (IQF), with each piece frozen separately to help minimize clumping and simplify portioning. Because they are already pre-cooked, they require minimal preparation and can be heated directly from frozen according to the desired cooking method.

French green beans pair well with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, butter, lemon, shallots, toasted almonds, bacon, Parmesan, and other savory seasonings.

Chef’s Tips:

  • Heat Briefly: Since the beans are pre-cooked, heat only until warmed through and tender. Prolonged cooking can soften their texture.
  • Sauté or Pan-Sear: Heat a small amount of butter or olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the frozen beans and heat until warmed through, turning occasionally to encourage light browning.
  • Finish After Heating: Add salt, lemon zest or juice, herbs, garlic, or other seasonings toward the end of heating to complement the beans without prolonged cooking.
  • For Cold Salads: Thaw the desired portion in the refrigerator, drain well, and chill before adding to salads or other cold preparations.

Product FAQs

What is the difference between standard green beans and haricots verts?

Haricots verts are French green beans that are typically thinner, more slender, and more tender than conventional green beans. They are commonly harvested at a younger stage, which contributes to their delicate texture and relatively quick cooking time.

Do I need to thaw these beans before cooking?

No. These beans are pre-cooked and IQF-frozen. They can generally be heated directly from frozen using methods such as pan-searing, boiling, or steaming without prior thawing.

Can these French green beans be used cold in salads?

Yes. Because they are pre-cooked, they can be thawed and chilled for use in salads. Drain well after thawing before serving.
