Château La Lagune Haut-Médoc Grand Cru Classé
Third Grand Cru Classé
The blend brings together the emblematic grape varieties of the Médoc - Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot - and offers vintage wines recognized for their balance, finesse and elegance. The vineyard of La Lagune covers 80 hectares. Caroline Frey, the oenologist, has been working in the establishment of environmentally friendly viticulture and conversion to organic and biodynamic agriculture initiated in 2013 with certification planned for the 2016 harvest. And this promotes more the quality of the wines.
The vintage is a great success owning the attributes of a great Bordeaux wine: harmony, elegance, and freshness. The oenologist brings a touch of femininity and youth to this exceptional wine.
AOC (controlled designation of origin)
An intense bouquet of blackberries and red fruits, imbued with vanilla, hints of cedar and spicy notes. Round on the palate graced with fruits and woodish hints, supple tannins with suave and charming length. A very pleasant full finish marked with elegance.
This red pairs well with classic meat dishes, white and red meat, dried and green vegetables, mushrooms, cold cuts, gratins, game, and soft and dry cheeses. It marries well with dishes such as leg of lamb with bone, roast duck breast, crusted roast beef, braised duck with peas, and sautéed chicken to name a few.
